A New Beginning

I love local football, so much better than what you will see on Sky Sports almost seven days a week.  Over the last two years I have followed with great interest the monumental battles Wainuiomata AFC have had on their way to Premier League survival in Wellingtons top soccer league in New Zealand.

Now it's time for a change, time to get back to my roots and head down to offer my somewhat quiet vocal support to the greatest football team on the island of Ireland.  Inchicore Athletic are far from glamourous and they're a long way off from Champions League qualification.  The former FAI Junior Cup champions are still a force to be reckoned with though.

After a number of years in the wilderness after the heady days of Premier A football in The AUL League the club reformed and now ply their trade in The Leinster Football League (LFL).  A narrow loss in The Dalton Cup Final last season was followed by promtion to The Major Sunday Division.

Although this season is almost complete there are still a number of games left for the team to play, there may even be a trip to this seasons Dalton Cup final.  There is no better time to start my account of what it's like to be a not so big time supporter of a big time club, so make sure you check out how the team is getting on each week.
